Ohio Cup VI slated for October

CHARLESTON, S.C. (May 24, 2010) – US Club Soccer is pleased to announce that the 2010 Ohio Cup for U-11 through U-14 boys’ and girls’ teams will be held Oct. 9-10, 2010 in Seville, Ohio. Hosted by the Cleveland Alliance Soccer Association (CASA), the event will take place at the Lodi Fields Complex.

The U-11 boys and girls will compete in an 8 vs. 8 format while the U-12 though U-14 boys and girls will compete in a full-sided 11 vs. 11 format. Each team is guaranteed three games with group winners playing in a final.

Registration is $425 for U-11 teams and $475 for U-12 through U-14 teams. Super Group and Premier divisions will be used when appropriate.

In addition, the Ohio Cup Challenge Series for U-8 through U-10 teams will take place Oct. 16-17, 2010 in Columbus, Ohio. Hosted by the Ohio Champions League, the competition will feature a three-game round-robin schedule in a 6 vs. 6 format. State championships are not awarded in the U-8 through U-10 event; rather, the three-game round-robin event serves as a feeder into the Ohio Cup for U-11 through U-14 teams in which state championships are awarded.

Registration for the Ohio Cup Challenge Series is $300 for all ages. Awards will be provided in a number of categories, including Best 11, All-Attacking Team and All-Defensive Team.
