First wave of 2010 National Cup IX dates and locations announced

CHARLESTON, S.C. (Oct. 13, 2009) – US Club Soccer has announced selected dates and locations for the 2010 National Cup IX, the organization’s signature national championship competition.
National Cup IX Regionals are open to U-11 through U-18/19 boys’ and girls’ teams. Winners in the U-13 through U-17 age groups from each of the Regionals advance to the National Cup IX Finals, where national championships are awarded in two competitive divisions. For the third successive year, the annual National Collegiate Showcase will be held in conjunction with the National Cup Finals in the tourist destination of Virginia Beach, Va.

In addition to facility announcements for all National Cup IX Regionals, the specific dates and location for the Regional in the Midwest will be announced shortly.
For the first time, National Cup Regionals will be held in Phoenix and Seattle. In 2009, US Club Soccer hosted a National Cup VIII Regional in Burlington, Wash., 1.5 hours north of the Emerald City.
The 2010 National Cup IX and National Collegiate Showcase application process will open on Nov. 1.
