[Registration Form – The Key’s College Soccer Evaluation Program]

CHARLESTON, S.C. (May 13, 2010) – Nationally-renowned college recruiting and admissions expert Rick Singer, Master Coach and CEO of The Key, will be on-site at selected 2010 National Cup IX events this summer to offer The Key’s College Soccer Evaluation Program, college recruiting and admissions seminars as well as individual team meetings.

The program is being offered at the following 2010 National Cup IX events:

  • June 12-15 Modesto, Calif., Regional (Boys)
  • June 19-22 Modesto, Calif., Regional (Girls)
  • June 26-29 Seattle Regional
  • July 24-27 National Cup IX Finals/National Collegiate Showcase (Girls)
  • July 30-Aug. 2 National Cup IX Finals/National Collegiate Showcase (Boys)

The Key’s College Soccer Evaluation offers a complete evaluation of the college-bound student-athlete – both academically and on-the-field. Students will receive:

  • Success profile – 10 most important questions in selecting a school at which to play
  • Transcript and test score evaluation
  • Breakdown of current strengths and weaknesses based on live game evaluation by college coaches and, if desired, a skills evaluation
  • 5-10 “match” schools in the student’s preferred region(s) based on student’s current academic and athletic level

The program is being offered at a pre-registration cost of $100 and an on-site cost of $125. To sign up, please complete the registration form and follow the return instructions included on the form.

“US Club Soccer’s valuable insight into how complicated the college process has become for student-athletes prompted The Key to create a comprehensive academic and athletic evaluation program,” said Singer. “This program was created to help each individual understand their current status as it relates to playing collegiate soccer and what they need to do to reach their goals and exceed their expectations for college.”

“Rick Singer has previously conducted very successful seminars over the past two years, with over 300 individuals attending each session,” said US Club Soccer’s Executive Director Bill Sage. “We’re excited to expand this year to include the College Soccer Evaluation Program as well as offer the programs to selected regional events.”

The College Soccer Evaluation program complements Singer’s college recruiting and admissions seminars and individual team meetings that are also being offered at the National Cup events listed above.

The seminars will take place during the evening of the tournament’s first day of competition.

In 2008, approximately 1,100 student-athletes on scholarship showed up to fall practice of their first collegiate semester and were declared ineligible, largely due to the fact that core curriculum requirements have recently changed. This oversight prevented these student-athletes from fully participating with their respective teams.

Singer’s seminar will address this area of concern as well as the all-important NCAA Clearinghouse process and many other subjects of significance to prospective student-athletes.

Individual team meetings, which provide the opportunity to meet and further discuss specific areas of the college recruiting and admissions process, may be coordinated in advance with Jackie Strong (contact information below) or organized on-site during team check-in or at the appropriate tent at the event.

For more information on the College Soccer Evaluation program or to sign up for the seminar or individual team meetings, please contact The Key’s Jackie Strong at Jackie.Strong@thekeyworldwide.com or (916) 489-8802.
