Be a Part of US Club Soccer’s Exciting 2008!

As 2007 draws to a close, US Club Soccer has lined up an exciting series of events in 2008.

The year kicks off with the NSCAA Convention from Jan. 16-20 in Baltimore, Md. where US Club Soccer will be hosting a number of events including a presentation on developing US Club Soccer leagues and a clinic session. US Club Soccer will also hold a Members Only reception where both new and old friends can meet and socialize. Look for more details about US Club Soccer’s activities at the NSCAA Convention soon.

Over Easter weekend, March 20-23, US Club Soccer will hold its third annual Champions Cup. Two separate tournaments will be contested in Scottsdale, Ariz. and outside of Orlando, Fla. This year’s tournament is a boys’ only event that is available to U.S. Soccer Development Academy programs, as well as other competitive clubs, some of whom have or will likely apply for Development Academy membership in the future. Each club will field teams in the U14, U16 and U18 age groups and accumulate points to determine a true club champion.

Memorial Day weekend marks the start of the 2008 National Cup VII as nine sites spread across the country will host Regionals through the Fourth of July holiday weekend (view the full list of Regional locations, dates and applications). Boys and Girls U13-U17 winners from each Regional will advance to the 2008 National Cup VII Finals from July 26-29 in Virginia Beach, Va. where National Champions will be crowned.

To be held at the same time and place as the 2008 National Cup VII Finals from July 26-29 in Virginia Beach, Va., the inaugural US Club Soccer National Collegiate Showcase will feature some of the nation’s top U-16 and U-17 Boys and Girls teams (application). Numerous college coaches are expected to attend both the US Club Soccer National Collegiate Showcase and the National Cup Finals to scout the attending players.

In the fall, the nation's top boys and girls’ youth players will attend the id2 Regional Training Camps for four days of competition, evaluation and fun. Players are identified to participate in the id2 Regional Training Camps as a result of a year-long scouting program. An invitation only event, the id2 Regional Training Camps seek to identify and develop the country's best players for inclusion in US Soccer's youth national team programs. More details about the 2008 id2 program will be revealed in the coming months.

To learn how you can participate in any of these events, please contact your regional representative. Be a part of US Club Soccer’s exciting 2008!
