NSCAA / US Club Soccer Director of Coaching Diploma course to be held July 20-22 in N.J.

CHARLESTON, S.C. (May 16, 2012) – The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA), in conjunction with US Club Soccer, will conduct a Director of Coaching Diploma Course on July 20-22 at Immaculate Heart Academy High School in Washington Township, N.J.

These 21-hour non-residential courses are designed to address the issues confronting the director of an American club. The curriculum is created jointly by US Club Soccer and the NSCAA and examines technical, conceptual, leadership and administrative skills of current and future directors of coaching for youth soccer clubs for the purpose of developing players.
This is accomplished through a curriculum rich in application and theory and will focus on organizational structure, methods of coaching, leadership theory, evaluation and development of coaches and players and fiscal, legal and moral responsibility. Candidates will understand each of the individual units of the club as well as the interrelationship of those parts to achieve the specific goals and objectives of a youth soccer club.
Highlighted topics include: organizational structure, methods of coaching, leadership theory, evaluation and development of coaches and players as well as fiscal, moral and legal responsibility.
Acceptance into the course requires: an NSCAA National Diploma or U.S. Soccer Federation “C” License as well as a letter of support from one of the following: club board member, NSCAA State Director or NSCAA Regional Director. The letter of support must be submitted with the application form.
The course will begin on Friday at 5 p.m., with check-in starting at 4 p.m. The course will conclude by 2:30 p.m. on Sunday. The cost of the course is $375.
