MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (Dec. 1, 2005) – US Club Soccer today unveiled a new feature on its Members Only site, which will expedite player card processing even more.  Member clubs and leagues can now submit their players’ proof of birth documents online, significantly reducing the amount of time it takes to receive their player pass cards, as it will not be necessary to send copies of the proof of birth documents.

“US Club Soccer continues to be on the cutting edge of card processing technology,” said US Club Soccer Executive Director Bill Sage.  “The new feature eliminates more paperwork and shortens our turnaround time for processing player cards.  This, combined with paying for player registration online, makes card processing even faster.”

“We have also built in security features to assure that only our office or the player’s club can access the proof of birth”, Sage said.

After scanning a player’s proof of birth documents into a .jpg, .gif or .pdf file, the player’s proof of birth document can now be attached to his/her respective player profile, eliminating the need to mail a paper copy to the US Club Soccer office.  Once the player’s card is requested, the proof of birth document is opened and reviewed by US Club Soccer.  If the proof of birth document is acceptable, the player’s pass card is processed and emailed to the requesting party at that time.  Proof of birth documents only need to be attached to players’ profiles who do not already have a proof of birth document on file with US Club Soccer.

Since debuting its web site in 2002, US Club Soccer has pioneered the nation’s first youth soccer online registration system.  Submitting players’ proof of birth documents online is just the latest feature US Club Soccer has added to its online card process.  In July, US Club Soccer unveiled the ability for member clubs and teams to pay for their team(s) or club’s player and staff passcards online with a credit card, and prior to that established a process to email cards to members via a .pdf file.
