Scouts Searching Nationally for id2 Talent

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (Nov. 22, 2004) – The next id2 National Training Camp may be over six months away, but our team of nationally based scouts are already out searching for the next group of America’s top youth players to invite to the second edition of id2.

Next year’s program, to be held July 24-28, 2005, will further the player identification and development revolution begun by id2 in the summer of 2004.

id2 takes a fresh approach to identifying and developing the nation’s best youth players. Parents no longer have to pay fees and for travel to multiple expensive tryout camps to ensure their players are seen by advanced scouts. id2 identifies players in their own environment as they compete with their club teams. With our scouts spread out across the country observing players as they compete with their club teams, the selection process is apolitical. Players will be identified regardless of their affiliation (i.e. US Club Soccer, USYSA, AYSO, non-affiliated, etc.).

Once players arrive at the id2 National Training Camp, US Club Soccer covers all player expenses. Top club, collegiate and national team staff coaches will conduct the 2005 id2 National Training Camp. Daily positional training sessions, showcase matches and classroom instruction sessions highlight the five-day id2 National Training Camp.

Over 100 U13 boys (‘91s) attended the inaugural id2 National Training Camp at SAS Soccer Park, which was attended by John Ellinger, then US Soccer’s Director of Youth Development. Six id2 attendees earned invitations to US Soccer’s U14 National Development Program camp in August and were named to US Soccer’s U14 National Team roster for a competition over Thanksgiving weekend. Over 20 more id2 participants were also added to US Soccer’s U14 player pool. The remaining id2 players continue to be scouted and evaluated by US Club Soccer’s staff.

In 2005, id2 will take player identification and development to another unprecedented level!
