2007 National Cup VI Regional Dates & Locations Announced

Boys & Girls U15-U17 Finals Return to Greensboro, N.C.

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (Oct. 5, 2006) – US Club Soccer announced today the dates and locations of the 2007 National Cup VI Regionals and launched the online application process for these events. Boys and Girls’ U12-U17 age groups will compete at the 2007 National Cup VI, which is open only to US Club Soccer members. The 2007 National Cup VI Finals will be held in late July with the Boys and Girls U15-U17 Finals returning to Greensboro, N.C.

Winners from each Regional will advance to the 2007 National Cup VI Finals.  As US Club Soccer seeks to maximize its members’ exposure to college scouts, the Boys U15-U17 Finals and Girls U15-U17 Finals will once again be held in conjunction with the Score at the Shore Showcase, one of the highest attended college showcase events in the country.  The Boys U15-U17 National Cup VI Finals will take place July 21-24 in Greensboro, N.C. while the Girls U15-U17 National Cup V Finals will be held a weekend later, July 28-31, also in Greensboro, N.C.  The dates and locations for the Boys and Girls U12-U14 National Cup VI Finals will be announced shortly.

2007 National Cup VI Application Highlights
  • As in previous years, a team may choose to attend any 2007 National Cup VI Regional, and is not limited to the ones in its USSF Region.  Please note there is a separate application for each Regional.

  • To ensure a high level of competition for all clubs, all teams applying for the 2007 National Cup VI will do so at the Premier level.  A tournament committee, consisting of soccer-knowledgeable, neutral, club soccer coaches, will review all the applications and select teams to be promoted into a Super Cup division.

  • The application fee of $695 per team remains the same as last year.  There is a surcharge for late entries and in some instances late drops.

2007 National Cup VI Regional Facility Information

National Cup VI Regionals will be held at four new locations, as well as four where prior Cup Regionals have been held.  More information on the specific sites will be available shortly on the 2007 National Cup VI page by clicking on the specific Regional competition.

Region C: May 25-28 in Jacksonville, Fla.
The Region C tournament for the second consecutive year will be held at Patton Park in Jacksonville, Fla., but will move to Memorial Day Weekend.  In 2005, the National Cup IV Boys U12-U14 and Girls U12-U15 Finals were successfully staged at this facility featuring six quality fields.

Region A: May 26-28 in LaGrangeville, N.Y.
For the fourth consecutive year LaGrangeville, N.Y.’s Stringham Park will host a Regional on the opening weekend of National Cup competition.  In a three-day event over Memorial Day weekend, eight fields will be utilized at Stringham Park, which is located near Poughkeepsie, N.Y.  Additional fields will be utilized at Bard College (Red Hook, N.Y.), Marist College (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) and Vassar College (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.).

Region H: June 16-19 in Modesto, Calif.
The state of California will host two National Cup Regionals in 2007, the first being staged in Northern California in mid-June.  Matches will be contested at two facilities: Turlock Regional Sports Complex and Mistlin Sports Complex.

Region B: June 23-26 in Pittsgrove, N.J.
The Region B tournament remains in New Jersey but moves to Greenbranch Park.  Located in Pittsgrove in the southern portion of the Garden State, Greenbranch Park features 20 fields.

Region F: June 23-26 in San Bernardino, Calif.
After successfully hosting the first-ever National Cup Regional contested in Southern California last year, the competition returns to San Bernardino, Calif. for the Region F tournament.  The San Bernardino Soccer Complex features 17 regulation size fields.

Region E: June 30-July 3 in Virginia Beach, Va.
For the first time in National Cup history, the state of Virginia will host a National Cup Regional June 30-July 3 in Virginia Beach.  Hampton Roads Soccer Complex, featuring 19 fields, will host Region E play.

Region D: June 30-July 3 in Indianapolis, Ind.
Region D competition returns to Indiana June 30-July 3.  Games will be staged at Lawrence Soccer Complex in Indianapolis.  Lawrence Soccer Complex features 21 fields, three of which are lighted.

Region G: June 30-July 3 in Boise, Idaho
Boise, Idaho’s Boise Capitals Soccer Complex will host National Cup Region VI action for the fourth consecutive year in 2007.  At least 14 fields will be utilized at the Boise Capitals Soccer Complex, which is capable of expanding to include even more fields.  In 2006, over 200 teams competed in the Region G tournament.
