Youth World Series Jacksonville, Fla. Event Provides Fun, Challenging Environment
When First Coast Soccer President Barry Dixon heard of US Club Soccer’s newest competition, the Youth World Series, he knew he wanted to get involved. Geared towards younger players, the Youth World Series provides an introductory tournament experience.
“We’re always looking for an opportunity for all the kids to have fun first and foremost and to have a nice challenge in an atmosphere where they can grow and learn,” Dixon said.
If you are seeking this same experience for your team, you too can get participate in the Youth World Series Jacksonville, Fla. event, which Dixon’s club will host Nov. 11-12 at Patton Park. Boys and Girls’ U9-U13 teams will contest games in a positive, nurturing, fun environment.

What does the Youth World Series Jacksonville Event Offer Younger Teams?
- Age appropriate playing formats
Young players need to develop in an environment that stimulates their growth. With fewer players on the field at the youngest age groups, players touch the ball more helping them to improve their skills and decision-making. Each participating team will play a minimum of three games and be allowed a maximum of 3 guest players. The playing formats for the Youth World Series Jacksonville event are:- U9-U10s will play 6 a side, 25 minute halves, max of 11 players
- U11-U12s will play 8 a side, 30 minute halves, max of 14 players
- U13s will play 11 a side, 35 minute halves, max of 18 players
- New, higher competition level
For young players gaining exposure to new challenges and experiences is key. The Youth World Series provides players at an early age the opportunity to be recognized for their hard work and success on the soccer field in a fun atmosphere. This will be done through various awards and recognitions at the end of each Youth World Series tournament:- All-defense team (team that gives up the fewest goals throughout tournament)
- All-offense team (team that scores the most goals throughout tournament)
- Sportsmanship Award (team that shows the best sportsmanship on and off the field)
- Golden Boot (player that scores most goals)
- All-tournament team
