MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (Dec. 14, 2005) – US Club Soccer will host a number of events at the 2006 NSCAA Convention Jan. 18-22 in Philadelphia, Pa. US Club Soccer’s Annual Members Meeting, a classroom session, a field demonstration session and individual meetings with clubs are among the activities US Club Soccer will be sponsoring.
The Annual Members Meeting, for US Club Soccer members only, will be held Friday, Jan. 20 at 4pm. A portion of the Members Meeting will be held in a similar format to the March 2004 Chicago 2 Summit where a number of important issues concerning soccer clubs were addressed.
In the lead up to the Members Meeting, US Club Soccer constructed a number of Task Forces to explore such topics as Club Criteria, Competition Calendar, Club Resources & Services, NSCAA Joint Programs and College Assistance. Reports from the respective Task Forces will be presented and further discussion encouraged at the Members Meeting.
“We strongly urge all members who are able to attend the Members Meeting,” said US Club Soccer Executive Director Bill Sage. “Our members’ feedback is integral to our organization. The comments and suggestions we receive play an important role in shaping our vision and goals.”
US Club Soccer will also host both a field demonstration session and a classroom session at the NSCAA Convention. On Thursday, Jan. 19 at 2:30pm, US Club Soccer will present a classroom session entitled “Creating a Club Culture in Your Club” as a follow up to October’s US Club Soccer/NSCAA Director of Coaching Course. FC DELCO, in conjunction with US Club Soccer, will stage a clinic titled “Training the Elite Female Youth Player” on Friday, Jan. 20 at 10:30am. These events will provide practical assistance from some of the top soccer club coaches and administrators in the country.
Key staff members along with several US Club Soccer board members will be in attendance at the NSCAA Convention to listen to ideas, concerns and suggestions and answer questions at the US Club Soccer booth on the Exhibition Hall floor (exhibit #1029). Individual meetings with clubs interested in learning more about US Club Soccer will also be held. To schedule an individual meeting, members or interested clubs should contact their respective Regional Representative who will be in attendance at the Convention:
