NSCAA/US Club Soccer Director of Coaching Diploma Course to be held Feb. 5-7, 2010, in Denver

CHARLESTON, S.C. (Dec. 22, 2009) – The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA), in conjunction with US Club Soccer, will conduct a Director of Coaching Diploma Course Feb. 5-7, 2010, in Denver.

This 21-hour non-residential course, to be held at Whitman Elementary School/Options High School, is designed to address the issues confronting the Director of an American club. The curriculum is created jointly by US Club Soccer and the NSCAA and examines technical, conceptual, leadership and administrative skills of current and future directors of coaching for youth soccer clubs for the purpose of developing players.

Highlighted topics include: organizational structure, methods of coaching, leadership theory, evaluation and development of coaches and players as well as fiscal, moral and legal responsibility.

Acceptance into the course requires: an NSCAA National Diploma or USSF “C” License as well as a letter of support from one of the following:  club board member, NSCAA State Technical Coordinator or NSCAA Regional Technical Director. The letter of support must be included with the application form.

On-site check-in is scheduled for 4 p.m. on Fri., Feb. 5. The course will be finished by 3 p.m. on Sun., Feb. 7.

The cost to register is $330.
