World Cup Watch Parties to be held at National Cup IX events

CHARLESTON, S.C. (May 24, 2010) – With both the 2010 National Cup IX and the World Cup set to open play over the next few weeks, US Club Soccer is pleased to announce a series of World Cup Watch Parties at each of the 10 Regionals held during the World Cup.
Beginning with the June 12-15 Regionals in Denver and Modesto, Calif., US Club Soccer has partnered with a local family-friendly, sports-oriented restaurant to become the event's Official World Cup Watch Party Headquarters at each National Cup IX Regional location this summer. Games will be shown on several TVs throughout the restaurant, and National Cup participants will be offered food and drink specials.
The 2010 World Cup begins play in South Africa on June 11 when the hosts face Mexico and Uruguay takes on France. The United States opens its campaign June 12 against England.
The ninth edition of US Club Soccer’s signature national championship competition – the 2010 National Cup IX – will begin with Regionals taking place from Memorial Day weekend through July 12 and will conclude with the 2010 National Cup IX Finals in the tourist destination of Virginia Beach, Va., in late July/early August. Two competitive divisions are available.
National Cup IX Regionals are open to U-11 through U-18/19 boys’ and girls’ teams registered with US Club Soccer. Winners in the U-13 through U-17 age groups from each Regional advance to the National Cup IX Finals, where national championships will be awarded.
