Columbus Day Tournaments to Take Advantage of Tour
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (Sept. 28, 2004) - With the leaves beginning to turn colors in the North East and Columbus Day on the horizon, clubs and leagues across the country are preparing for holiday tournaments.
A number of US Club Soccer members are taking advantage of US Club Soccer’s tournament sanctioning program to host their own Columbus holiday tournaments including:
US Club Soccer’s tournament sanctioning program gives your club or league the ability to tailor your tournament to meet your competitive needs. Both US Club Soccer teams and teams registered with other US Soccer Federation affiliates may participate in a US Club Soccer sanctioned tournament.
With no travel permissions required for a US Club Soccer team to participate in a US Club Soccer sanctioned tournament, US Club Soccer members can easily cross state lines to compete. Upon US Club Soccer’s approval, the hosting club or league may establish its own roster and competition rules including allowing players to “play up” in age group but regardless they are your rules.
Insurance is covered too! With US Club Soccer registration, tournament liability and medical insurance coverage is provided for 365 days for US Club Soccer members to attend US Club Soccer sanctioned tournaments and in any US Soccer Federation event. If some state associations attempt to deny Insurance coverage for their teams attending US Club Soccer sanctioned events, those teams may still participate by easily obtaining tournament insurance from US Club Soccer for the duration of the competition.
