Pair of Events to Attract College Coaches to Virginia Beach, Va. July 26-29

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (Nov. 14, 2007) – US Club Soccer announced today the launch of the US Club Soccer National Collegiate Showcase.  To be held at the same time and place as the 2008 National Cup VII Finals, the US Club Soccer National Collegiate Showcase will feature some of the nation’s top U-16 and U-17 Boys and Girls teams from July 26-29 in Virginia Beach, Va. at the Hampton Roads Soccer Complex and the Princess Anne Athletic Complex.

Joining US Club Soccer to conduct the National Collegiate Showcase is Bill Cameron, former Director of the Score at the Shore College Showcase.  Online applications are being accepted for the Showcase.

“Because it’s been important to our members to have a college showcase in conjunction with our National Cup Finals, we have decided to assure that this program will stay in place,” said US Club Soccer Executive Director Bill Sage.  “We are happy to have Bill Cameron join us in forming what we believe is destined to be one of the nation’s top college showcases.”

“I look forward to bringing some of the elements that made Score at the Shore successful to the US Club Soccer National Collegiate Showcase,” said Cameron.  “With the winners of the National Cup Regionals playing alongside the Showcase, the top soccer talent in the nation will be represented in Virginia Beach.”

Numerous NCAA Division I and II college coaches are expected to attend both the US Club Soccer National Collegiate Showcase and 2008 National Cup VII Finals.  A profile book listing athletes participating in both events will be produced and distributed to all attending college coaches.

Teams who apply to compete at the US Club Soccer National Collegiate Showcase and go on to win a 2008 National Cup VII Regional to advance to the 2008 National Cup VII Finals will receive a full refund of their US Club Soccer National Collegiate Showcase application fee.   Applications for the 2008 National Cup VII Regionals are currently available online at the official 2008 National Cup VII webpage.
