National Cup Regional Championships Awarded in LaGrangeville, N.Y. & Jacksonville, Fla.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (May 28, 2007) – US Club Soccer National Cup VI Region A and C Champions were crowned in Boys and Girls U12-U17 age groups on Memorial Day in LaGrangeville, N.Y. and Jacksonville, Fla., respectively. A total of 37 teams earned berths to the 2007 National Cup VI Finals in Super Group and Premier divisions.

Eastern FC, Inter SC Bandits Each Claim Three Region A Titles
A pair of New England clubs in Connecticut’s Eastern FC and Massachusetts’ Inter SC Bandits each won three Region A championships at Stringham Park in LaGrangeville, N.Y. Eastern FC was victorious in the Premier Boys U13, Premier Boys U16 and Premier Girls U13 Finals, while Inter SC Bandits prevailed in the Premier Boys U15, Premier Girls U14 and Premier Girls U17 brackets.
Other notable Region A performances included Minnesota’s Shattuck-St. Mary’s winning the Premier Boys U17 and Premier Girls U16 competitions and New York’s White Plains Youth Soccer claiming the Premier Boys U14 and Super Group Girls U14 titles.
Weston Fury Leads Florida Teams in Jacksonville, Fla.
Florida teams claimed 12 of the 14 Region C championships awarded at Jacksonville’s Patton Park. The Weston Fury earned a trio of titles with victories in the Premier Boys U13, U14 and U15 competitions. In Monday’s Region C Finals, the Fury’s U13s downed Bridge FA, 6-2, while its U14s beat Strictly Soccer, 3-1, and its U15s defeated Strictly Soccer, 5-3, in a penalty kick shootout after the match ended in a 2-2 tie.
“Our success was a credit to the self-belief of our players, coaches and families,” said Weston Fury Boys Director of Coaching Carlos Parra. “We work together as a club from U9 to U18. These results show that we are headed in the right direction to reach our goal of becoming the best club in the Southeast.”
Strictly Soccer, based in St. Petersburg, and host club First Coast SA each won a pair of Region C championships. In the Super Group Boys U16 Final, Strictly Soccer edged Dunedin Stirling SA, 2-1, while the club’s U17 Girls won a round-robin competition. First Coast SA likewise won the Girls U15 round-robin competition, while its U17 boys downed the Clearwater Chargers, 3-1, to claim the Premier title.
2007 National Cup VI Regionals Continue in June
The National Cup VI Regionals continue June 16-19 in Modesto, Calif. before heading to Pittsgrove, N.J. and San Bernardino, Calif. June 23-26. The Regionals conclude June 30-July 3 with a trio of events in Virginia Beach, Va., Indianapolis, Ind. and Boise, Idaho.
Winners from each of the eight Regionals advance to the 2007 National Cup VI Finals. The U15-U17 Boys & U15-U17 Girls Finals are being held in conjunction with the Score at the Shore Showcase in Greensboro, N.C. July 21-24 and July 28-31, respectively, to maximize our members’ exposure to college scouts. Approximately 275 college coaches will be in attendance at the Finals for the older age groups. The U12-U14 Boys & Girls Finals will be staged in Burlington, N.C. July 28-31.
