Championships awarded at inaugural East Penn Cup

 

CHARLESTON, S.C. (Nov. 23, 2009) – Championships have been awarded at US Club Soccer’s inaugural East Penn Cup, held Nov. 21-22, 2009, in West Chester, Pa.

Winners earn preferential seeding at US Club Soccer’s 2010 National Cup IX.

A complete list of championship and runner-up teams is shown below:

U-12 Boys Champion:  LDC United Arsenal
U-12 Boys Runner-up:  Rose Tree SC Gunners
U-13 Boys Champion:  YMS Premier 96 United
U-13 Boys Runner-up:  Empire United SA – Rochester Blue
U-14 Boys Champion:  West Chester United SC Predators 95
U-14 Boys Runner-up:  Upper Dublin SC Force
U-12 Girls Champion:  Neshaminy United SC Panthers
U-12 Girls Runner-up:  FC Liberty Strikers
U-14 Girls Champion:  YMS Storm
U-14 Girls Runner-up:  West Chester United SC Predators 95

YMS won a pair of championships while host West Chester United SC captured one championship and added a finalist showing.

"YMS Soccer Club Boys and Girls Premier Travel programs seek the highest level of competition, and it is an exciting part of the YMS tradition,” said YMS coach Craig Roth. “The East Penn Cup provided a deep competitive platform for our squads. Additionally, we were very pleased with the quality of the referees and the tightly-mowed pitches on which our games were held. With both of our teams winning their respective divisions, we are looking forward to competing in the 2010 National Cup IX this upcoming summer."
