Editor’s Note: Every quarter, US Club Soccer will announce the most recent class of Players First-licensed clubs. In the weeks to follow, those new clubs will be highlighted with Q&As from their directors.
Question: Why did St. Croix SC apply for Players First licensing?
Nathan Klonecki, Director of Coaching of St. Croix SC: St. Croix's mission fits the US Club Soccer mission, and we want to make sure that we are focused and follow the Players First licensing rules and expectations.
Question: What does it mean for St. Croix SC to now be an official Players First-licensed club?
Klonecki: St. Croix is very excited to be a part of the Players First license and are looking at all the great aspects of the program. We hope to continue to improve ourselves as a club, and being part of this license, we will continue to grow and develop as an organization.
Question: What makes Players First licensing different from other initiatives or programs your club has participated in?
Klonecki: The application was detailed and made sure that our club has all the components to be a great club. We are not just working on one or two areas; we have seven areas that we want to grow in, and so we are here to improve the experience for the players, parents, coaches and administration of St. Croix.
Question: What would you like the parents of St. Croix SC to know about what this means to them?
Klonecki: We want to show the St. Croix parents that the club is here to improve the overall experience for their players, and we want them to have a great experience. We want them to know we are here to help the players to become soccer players, as well as better people in general.
Also, we are here to continue to develop as a club and that we are here to learn and give their players a great opportunity to play and be part of the St. Croix Soccer Club family.
