Editor’s Note: Every quarter, US Club Soccer will announce the most recent class of Players First-licensed clubs. In the weeks to follow, those new clubs will be highlighted with Q&As from their directors.
Question: Why did NEFC apply for Players First licensing?
Jason Braga, Vice President of NEFC: We think it's important for clubs to be held to high standards, and utilizing this platform was a way to evaluate ourselves on what we are doing. Our mission statement is a simple one: "To Develop Players for the Next Level in an Elite Soccer Environment," and the Players First platform aligns with that.
Question: What does it mean for NEFC to now be an official Players First-licensed club?
Braga: It offers us affirmation that we are doing the right things and are on the pathway to achieving our mission statement.
Question: What makes Players First licensing different from other initiatives or programs your club has participated in?
Braga: The biggest difference is that it's from a nationally recognized organization that has the ability to see into thousands of clubs to know what truly are best practices.
Question: What would you like the parents of NEFC to know about what this means to them?
Braga: We would like them to feel proud that they are a part of a club that puts the players at the forefront of every decision we make.
