Dear members and parents of Youth Participants,

Consistent with our focus on Player Health and Safety, US Club Soccer strongly encourages parents and Youth Participants (subject to parental consent) to complete the respective free online training available from the U.S. Center for SafeSport on an annual basis.

More information and instructions are available on the Resources for Parents and Youth Participants web page, and also below.

US Club Soccer encourages member clubs/organizations to forward this information to parents of Youth Participants as well.

US Club Soccer strongly encourages all Youth Participants, subject to parental consent, to complete the U.S. Center for SafeSport's Youth Athlete Training on an annual basis.

These free online trainings are designed as an introduction for minor athletes and their parents or other caregivers to understand the importance of positive, welcoming environments in sports, where misconduct like bullying or abuse is less likely to happen, and to know where to report abuse, should it occur. Included are courses for children of preschool age, grades K-2, grades 3-5, middle school and high school.

Each course requires that a parent/legal guardian create an account to provide consent for their child to access the training. Once an account is created, parents can choose which course is best for their child based on their actual or developmental age. Each course will take less than 30 minutes to complete. A writeable PDF certificate is available at the conclusion of each training, and parents are encouraged to create one bearing their child’s name.

US Club Soccer strongly encourages all parents of Youth Participants to take the U.S. Center for SafeSport Parent's Guide to Misconduct in Sport Training on an annual basis.

This course is designed for the parents of athletes of all ages and explains the issues of misconduct in sport and helps parents ensure their children have a positive and safe sport experience.

If you are a parent looking for resources on keeping your athlete safe, you can access this training at no cost. Simply create an account, add the parent training to your bag, and you’ll be able to access the training.

A variety of toolkits are also available.

These courses complement the SafeSport Training required by all adult individuals – including, but not limited to, coaches – who have regular contact with Youth Participants in US Club Soccer programming.

We also encourage you to frequent, which aggregates a variety of information and resources related to Athlete and Participant Safety/Risk Management such as applicable policies, how to report a concern, reporting obligations pursuant to the SafeSport Act, and more.

Thanks for your time and commitment to Player Health and Safety. Together, we can achieve the safe environment that all our children deserve.
