After the first-ever LaLiga Formation Methodology Level 2 course was held nearly three years ago in Livermore, California, LaLiga’s coaching education course returned to Las Positas College to conduct the fourth Level 2 course and 17th course, overall.
Hosted by NorCal Premier, this advanced level course qualified 59 coaches from 51 clubs, spanning six states, to Level 1 (expert) of LaLiga Formation Methodology. After the first-ever Level 1-U.S. course was held this past August in Elmhurst, Illinois, the premiere Level 1-Spain portion of the course will kick-off February 2-11 in Madrid.
Held January 4-5, this course looked a little different from the prior LaLiga Formation Methodology courses, featuring a condensed two-day schedule, as opposed to the standard three-day course schedule.
This marks the fifth LaLiga Formation Methodology course held in California, with attending coaches representing clubs in Alabama, Arizona, Texas, Utah and Mexico.
The two-day course alternated between field and classroom sessions, as well as workshop format to help coaches apply the principles they’ve learned from LaLiga clinicians into various scenarios. Hugo Blanco oversees the US Club Soccer/LaLiga partnership and was on-site to implement the course curriculum, alongside experienced clinicians Carlos Casal and Felipe Vega-Arango. Full bios of the UEFA-PRO coaches are available on the course web page.
